Or something.

Still have the flu. Finished Dad’s scarf. I think I’ll go back to bed.

This is what has kept me from posting lately:

I think a sleigh wrecked.

Plus we both now have the flu we got from the one standing up. *sigh*

Here’s some of the Christmas knitting, in various stages. Click for bigger pictures.

Mike’s Mom’s Coronet, knit with Mission Falls 1824 Wool:

Becky’s Branching Out, with two views I’ll share. This was knit with KnitPick’s Andean Silk. Very yummy! Unblocked:

And blocked:

Note: I went back a bit after taking this picture and blocked it more severely. The lace stands out even more now. Blocking is magic with lace!

And Tammy’s Airy Scarf (from Last Minute Knitted Gifts), knit with Rowan KidSilk Haze.:

Blocked Airy Scarf

As for the rest of the gifts, you’ll have to use your imagination. Mike’s Grandmother got a pale pink version of the Airy Scarf. Mike’s sister Wendy got the blue Madison Scarf I showed in an earlier post. And her husband Marshall and Mike’s father got the green and grey socks, respectively. Okay, Marshall got socks. I’m still trying to find the mate for the grey one…

I must say I’m glad my father is a patient, understanding man. After all - he raised three daughters. *grin*

When you’re missing one of each pair of socks you’re giving as Christmas gifts.

The bars, bars, bars, bars, bars, bars, bars, bars…

Yes, I’ve cracked. As if you’re going to figure out that I’m parodying Poe’s “The Bells.” Of course, it’s noon, I haven’t slept yet, and it’s not all from Christmas knitting. Heh.

I’m really surprised that I’m as far as I am with it, considering that Mike and I have been herding small children most of this week. I think one gift might not get done in time. I can live with that, all things considered. And there will be pictures later. After I figure out where I packed the camera cord. Or see if, in a house with four desktops and two laptops, if they might have a similar cable.

I’m off to see if I can get a nap and figure out why my parents do not seem to have any antacid. Which will probably prevent that nap…

At least I got As in both my classes this semester. Yay!

*glances over at the progress bars*

The two at 99% just need ends woven in and blocked. Mike’s father’s gift was 95% done, and then I realized I dropped a stitch back at a point I couldn’t just pick it up, so I frogged 20 rounds or so. Ouch. It’s sitting in Time Out for now, so it can think about how a proper project should behave.

I’d like to say right now that I love both Mission Falls 1824 Wool and Ann Budds The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns. Oh, and for inspiration, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s The Christmas Attic

Oh, more details on the visit when the nieces haven’t exhausted us both. But Allie is learning to knit! On a loom, yes, but she told me today, “Knitting is cool!’ Glad to know I’m corrupting a six year old. *evilgrin*

I spent the past six hours or so working on the Row Counter project…

But it’s much closer to what I wanted than it was in the last version.

I think I’m going to go collapse in bed and giggly madly.

It’s 5am, and for once, I’m okay with still being awake. I think it’s because I’m listening to Mike try to persuade Mini-Kitty over to be petted. She seems to be warming up to us more when we’re not in bed, and it makes me want to cry. I don’t know if it’s just her loosing her fear, or if it’s more that it’s incredibly sweet to hear your husband refer to the kitty as “sweetie” and “baby” and mean it. I have to love the man.

I probably make no sense, hmm? Insomniac week. Finals next week. Doesn’t make for a great state of mind. Even if I found out today that I currently have a 94 in calculus.

So I’ve been working on the Row Counter project. It’s gotten to a point where I’m reasonably happy with it. There are some problems, but I’m learning a lot about Java. Some of it may even be on my final exam. *grin* It’s a good review, if nothing else.

Also, Mike and I saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe tonight. Amazing. They did this one right. Thanks, guys. For handling my treasured childhood memories properly and reminding me of what I’d forgotten.

It was worth driving home at 3am in the snow/sleet/freezing rain. It really was. And I even knit half the leg of a sock while I was there. I would have knit more, but I kept getting caught up in the movie. No bad thing!

So, based on a discussion I saw last night on a desktop row counter and wishes for a Mac version, I put my novice Java skills to use and created this:

Row Counter

It’s a rough version for now, developed with insomnia. I’ll add more features as I go.

Green Sock

Wonky because it went through the dryer. It’ll get a proper blocking before I wrap it.

Madison Scarf

Wonky because it’s unblocked lace. And fulfilling my obligatory knitblogger pajama sighting.

K3P1 sock

Wonky because…it’s stil on the needles. Can’t you tell?

So…who gets which? Can you tell?
